Jonathan To Launch Ibese Cement Plant Thursday

President Goodluck Jonathan will on Thursday February 9 open the multi-billion Naira Ibese cement factory owned by the Dangote group in Imeko-Afon local government area of Ogun state.

The new plant, has an installed capacity of six million metric tons of cement per year from two production lines.

Th President of the Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, had said the group was taking up the challenge to lead the way in the effort of making the country cement exporting nation thereby generating employment for Nigerians and also earning foreign exchange from cement production instead of losing huge sums in foreign exchange to importation.

With additional two production lines to come on stream immediately according to a statement from the group and adding another six million metric tons, the Ibese cement plant with 12 million metric tons cement production, is the largest in Africa.
