Controversies Trail Voter Card Distribution In Ogun

Hitches and complaints trailed the distribution of Permanent Voter Card across Ogun State, on Friday.
Saturday Tribune gathered that the exercise commenced late in many of the centres, while staff of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) were nowhere no to be found.
While some eligible voters found their names on the register, their PVCs were equally not available.
When Saturday Tribune visited Owu Central Primary School at Akin-Olugbade area of Abeokuta, at about 1.30pm, voters were sèen waiting for INEC staff.
It was the same situation at a ward in Sokori area and some other centres in the metropolis.
Former governor of Ogun State, Chief Segun Osoba, was at Ward 13, Ago-Oba to collect his card.
His name was found on the list while the card was presented to him at the national headquarters of INEC by officials of the electoral body.
It was learnt that the body had put in place special arrangement for dignitaries in the state to collect their cards at INEC headquarters.
Speaking with Saturday Tribune a member of the state House of Assembly representing Abeokuta ll state constituency, Mr Allen Taylor, complained that he could not find his name on the register.
He urged electorate, who found themselves in the same situation to register afresh to enable them vote at future elections.
Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State and his wife, Olufunso, collected their cards at Ajura Ward 4 in Obafemi-Owode Local Government.
