Police warn warring religious factions in Ososa

The Ogun State police command has warned the two factions involved in the religious crisis in Ososa area of the state to tread the path of peace and harmony, as the command will not condone any act of lawlessness or hooliganism.

According to a press release by the Police Command, policemen - led by the Deputy Commissioner of Police ‘B’ Operations, Mr Mohammed Abdulkadri - were on Friday, August 24, 2012, deployed to secure the Central Mosque at Ososa in order to prevent a free-for-all between the two parties.

The statement also
stated that, “while the Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Mr Okoye Ikemefuna, is working with the state government, and in collaboration with other security agencies and stakeholders towards finding an amicable solution to the crisis, anyone caught planning to heat up crisis in the area or engaging himself in any act capable of promoting lawlessness will be dealth with accordingly.”
