Peacock Travels Chairman Honoured

The Executive Chairman of Peacock Group of Companies, Chief Segun Phillips, has been made the Aare Kakanfo (The Generalissimo) of Oke-Agbo, Ijebu,  Ogun State.
The conferment of the chieftaincy title on the travel icon and business mogul came on the heels of his achievements in the travel management industry and the aviation sector in general.
The formal conferment ceremony of the chieftaincy was done by His Royal Highness Oba Abass Fiwajoye, the Bejeroku of Oke-Agbe, Ijebu Igbo.

Also, Phillips’ wife, Mrs. Olubunmi Olusola, was conferred with the title Yeye Kakanfo of Oke-Agbo, Ijebu Igbo.
The mother of the day, the first Iyalode of Yoruba land, Alaba Lawson, was accompanied by other dignitaries, including commissioners, permanent secretaries and other top government officials. The event was spiced with special music by The Commander of Music, Chief Ebenezer Obey.
British-born Chief Executive Officers and top officials from the Peacock Group of Companies’ offices in the United Kingdom also attended the great occasion in Oke-Agbo.

Commenting on   the award, Representative Deputy Lieutenant for the London Borough of Hackney, Roderick Morriss, said “I was enormously pleased to hear you had been honoured with the conferment of chieftaincy titles of Aare Kakanfo and Yeye Kakanfo. I have no doubt that these honours are richly deserved for, inter alia, you work in driving forward the Peacock Group of Companies and thus the economic wealth of both Nigeria and the UK. The London Borough of Hackney is privileged to be associated with Peacock Travel and greatly appreciates its presence in the Borough. I myself fondly recall the 10th of May last year when I was honoured with the esteemed pleasure of opening the UK offices of the Peacock Group. I am sure that your future life will be equally dazzling and I look forward to hearing of your continued success.”

Lawson  in her goodwill message to the Phillips said: “Your positive contributions to commerce is Nulli Secundus with Peacock Travels and Tours in Nigeria, UK, South Africa and other major cities all over the world, creating jobs for our teeming youths. You are a role model and epitome of handwork, humility and honesty.”
The Manager, Peacock Travels and Tours, UK, Mr. Keith Lloyd, in his goodwill message said: “On this momentous occasion, may I extend to you, Aare Phillips, the UK Travel Office’s most sincere congratulations and our best wishes for the honour that has been bestowed on you and of which you are a most worthy recipient.”

The Principal, Peacock College, UK, Mr. Zenon Adamek, said “This title has come to you with recognition of your hard work and devotion for the people of Nigeria. It is an extremely difficult journey for somebody to travel but it is your hard work, enthusiasm and zeal towards the work that enabled you to receive such honourable recognition. This honour is in recognition of your hard work economic development, humility and contribution to socio-economy of the community of your various operations home and abroad shows the appreciation of your efforts. You have been truly and inspiration to us. It is an honour and privilege to have you as our leader and we highly appreciate the title you have received.”
