Amosun's wife feeds less privileged at Christmas

Speaking at the programme over the weekend at NUD School Ground, Agbado in Ifo Local Government area of the state, Mrs. Amosun said the Uplift Food Outreach programme was a relief measure designed to improving on the welfare of the people.
According to her, “The programme was designed to create food bank for the less privileged with the aim of feeding them within their locality and to reduce the stress of coming down to Abeokuta, the state capital to get our little contributions to them. By this act, we are giving our needy people a good sense of belonging.”
She added that the aged and pregnant women deserved to be cared for and revered in the society, saying the Uplift Food Outreach would support families in Ogun State by ensuring they eat balanced diet meals which would protect them from nutritional related diseases as well as help them maintain a good healthy living.
She thanked all the people of the state for their unflinching support and solidarity, calling on them to join hands with the state government to support the cause of the needy in the state as part of their contribution to the mission to rebuild Ogun State.
In his remarks, the Chairman of Ifo Local Government, Hon. Oluwole Enilolobo commended the efforts of the state government and the initiative of Mrs Amosun for her continuous efforts to boost the living standard of the less privileged, saying this would go a long way to alleviate poverty and put smiles on the faces of the aged and pregnant women in the state. He said the programme would reduce the gap between the poor and the rich and urged other well-meaning Nigerians to donate to the cause of humanity by emulating the good work of the Wife of the Governor to better the lots of the needy as government alone could not meet the needs of the people.
Also speaking at the occasion, Alagbado of Agbado, Oba Adedayo Sogbulu appreciated and lauded the Wife of the Governor for the privilege given to the people of Ifo to benefit from her Uplift Food Outreach programme, which he said the people of Agbado and its environs had been yearning for. He called on the state government to come to their aid and provide a model college, customary court, a polytechnic and hospital in the local government area, saying this would further improve the quality of lives of the indigenes.
In her remarks on behalf of the beneficiaries, Mrs. Sidikat Idowu thanked Amosun's wife for her kind gesture, noting that the food items would support their expenses during and after Christmas and prayed that God would bless and guard her and the entire family. Various dry food items like rice, noodles, spaghetti, semovita and among others were distributed freely to over 5,000 aged and pregnant women in attendance.
