Ogun public servant charged on productivity.

Public servants in Ogun State have been charged to renew with vigour their commitment in the discharge of their duties this year.
The state Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Yusuph Olaniyonu, gave the charge during a special prayer session organised by staff of his ministry to herald the new year at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.
Olaniyonu stated that as public servants, they must be cognisant of their roles to the people, adding that they should be unbiased and non partisan in their adherence to the code of ethics of the service.
He stressed that their roles at complementing government’s developmental efforts must be unwavering at all times, specifically charging staff of his ministry which is responsible for the dissemination of government policies and programmes to re-double their efforts to match the massive development efforts of the Ibikunle Amosun's administration.
Revealing that the completion of all ongoing projects remains a priority of government this year, Olaniyonu noted that the public also have a responsibility of taking ownership and protection of the projects when completed.
The commissioner urged all the staff present at the prayer session to eschew bitterness and work together as a formidable team to achieve set goals and objectives.
He noted that the event provided an avenue for stock taking and a forum to give thanks to God for his enduring mercies.
The Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Information and Strategy, Alhaji Abdul Fatai Opebiyi, in his submission, described 2014 as a year of spectacular achievements, urging public servants to be always appreciative of regular payment of salaries and allowances as well as the constant training of personnel by the Amosun-led government as they have never had it this good under previous administrations.
In their sermons, Imam Abdul Fatai Inakoju and Pastor Seye Senfuye enjoined staff of the ministry to continuously seek refuge in Almighty God and ensure they be their brother’s keepers.
They both agreed that unity remained a vital instrument at achieving set goals in a work environment.
