TRACE organises road safety seminar for secondary school teachers

Preparation for this year’s edition of the Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE) Annual Quiz Competition for Secondary Schools in Ogun State has commenced with an in-house road safety seminar for 255 coordinating teachers at Abeokuta, Ota, Sagamu, Ijebu-Ode and Yewa, respectively.
The Corps Commander of TRACE, Commander Ayodele Sangofadeji, who made this disclosure in Abeokuta said the seminar was organised to intimate teachers with areas to be covered by the students while preparing for the competition.
“They are expected to go back to their respective schools, coordinate the students and get them prepared for the star prize,” he said.
According to the Corps Commander, students were expected to cover topics on an overview of road transportation, elements of road traffic, driving and road safety, road traffic accident and first aid, safety tips, road safety regulation agencies in Nigeria and formation of TRACE Club in Ogun State.
Responding on behalf of the teachers, Mr Idowu Olukunle of Anglican Girls Grammar School, Ijebu-Ode, lauded the efforts of TRACE at ensuring safety on the roads by inculcating safety culture in younger generations, adding that the teachers on their part would do the needful to ensure that the purpose of the competition come to fruition.
