Union Demands 100% Implementation of New Salary Scale

Joint Action Committee of Staff Unions, Abraham Adesanya Polytechnic, Ijebu-Igbo in Ijebu North Local Government Area of Ogun State, have demanded for 100 per cent implementation of the new salary scheme with effect from January 2014, as against the 64 per cent being paid.

A letter sent by the committee to the management, signed by the  Chairman of SSANIP, Banwo Oluyomi, Secretary, Aro Adebisi, Acting Chairman of ASUP,  Akindele Tolulope, Secretary, ASUP, Sorunke Olalekan, Chairman of NASU, Adeeko Idowu and the Secretary of NASU, Odesola Olabisi,  reminded the management  of the institution, that out of the nine tertiary institutions in the state,  the polytechnic remained the only institutions that is yet to effect the new salary  scheme being enjoyed by other institutions since 2009. 

The committee noted that the  salary scheme otherwise known as CONTEDISS  I, was approved by the state government in 2009 and adopted by the polytechnic governing council in January 2011, after which the government mandated all tertiary institutions to effect the payment from their respective internally generated revenue. 

They stated that the management led by the rector had refused to comply, despite the unprecedented improvement in the institution’s IGR in the current  academic session.
