Akin Busari of U & I Music Label - How It All Began

The Nigerian-born award winning artist “Akin” pushes the boundaries of music, mixing R&B, Hip Hop and Reggae with his African roots.

In 2013, he co-produced and released "Harmony", a song well-received throughout the world. Along with his elder brother Rasak Busari, Akin is the co-owner of U & I Music. Akin is a one-of-a-kind musician whose diverse background has helped him perfect an original voice that parallels his unique sound.

Akin is the 2009 & 2010 “Toronto Exclusive Magazine Awards” winner for three of his songs and also the 2011 “African Entertainment Awards” winner. Singing about his everyday life, real life events, his childhood growing up in Nigeria, as well as his experiences in Canada, mix seamlessly to create a style that is distinct and yet familiar.
