Security aides attached to Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun on Monday September 24, 2012 arrested a 40-year-old man, Tubosun Banjo for impersonating the state's Deputy Commissioner of Police.

Banjo was apprehended at the governor’s office in Abeokuta with his two orderlies while attempting to pay a courtesy visit to governor Amosun.

The suspect who was dressed in mufti introduced himself to the security aides as the Deputy Commissioner of Police and demanded to see the governor, the aides were however, confused as they had not met Banjo before, hence doubted him and requested for further identification upon which it was discovered that he was impersonating the State Deputy Commissioner of Police.

Confirming the incident, the state police command spokesperson, Muyiwa Adejobi, said: “It is true, the fake policeman had been arrested and cooling his feet with us at the Eleweran Police Headquarters.”
