Kidnappers Release Ogun Lawmaker's Mother


The kidnapped mother of Remmy Hassan, an Ogun state lawmaker, has been released.

Mr. Hassan's mother was kidnapped ‎on Wednesday, October 1st at about 9pm from her Omu-Ijebu home.

Confirming her release to PREMIUM TIMES, Mr. Hassan, a former deputy speaker of the Ogun state House of Assembly and a current member of the assembly, said ‎"I thank God she has been released unhurt and healthy," he said.

‎A source told PREMIUM TIMES that the kidnappers demanded a N50 million ransom.

Mr. Hassan refused to comment on whether there was a demand for ransom or if any was paid to the abductors.

The Ogun state police spokesperson, Muyiwa Adejobi, also confirmed the release of the Mr. Hassan's mother.

"Yes, the mama has been released unhurt," the PPRO said in a text message.

He also did not say anything as regards the ransom
