PDP Will Provide Better Alternative To APC Govt, Says Daniel

FORMER Governor Gbenga Daniel has reiterated the readiness of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to win the next general election in Ogun State.

Daniel, who stated this at a unification meeting held at his Asoludero Court residence in Sagamu said the coming together of a rainbow coalition of parties that dissolved into the PDP has made the structure that now constitutes the party as  the most formidable in the state which remains the party to beat.

“With the array of major stakeholders of Ogun politics in this Hall, it is glaring that the ingredients for winning elections are at hand and ready to go for power in 2015,” Otunba Daniel said.

He stated that all the aggrieved members in the state that had issues have shifted ground with a collective resolve to work in unity and provide a better alternative to the present  government in Abeokuta.

He added: “A leader worth its salti s saddled with the burden of providing leadership and guidance towards finding a credible  successor and that is exactly why we are on this mission to present a formidable platform that can wrest power from the incumbent and rescue Ogun State before it is too late.”

And ahead of Daniel’s declaration in the state capital, Abeokuta, preparations are in top gear to receive him  formally into the PDP.

The party’s chairman in the state, Bayo Dayo, has said that the move would give victory in the2015 general election and turn around its fortunes.

Also, a PDP governorship aspirant, Jelili Kayode Amusan,  disclosed that the new merger with Labour Party [LP] was a “welcome  development that would give a resounding victory  to the  party and the ordinary people of Ogun State  who have been yearning for change.”

Dignitaries present at the unification meeting included Chief Kolapo Ogunjobi, Chief (Mrs.) Iyabode Apampa, Senator Lekan Mustapha, Senator Tunde Osolake, Hon. Apostle Dave Salako, Hon.
